VP Candidates Closing Arguments

On October 11, 2012 Martha Raddatz asked – if you were elected what could you give to this country as a man, as a human being? Paul Ryan said there are plenty of good people who could run this country but what you need are people who say they’re going to do something, go and do it; you need is people who see problems and offer solutions; said that’s what their 5 point plan to grow the economy is all about-growing jobs. Martha interrupted as Ryan was not answering the question and directed the question to Joe Biden, he said – my record stands for itself, I don’t say what I don’t mean, what I say - I do, my whole life has been devoted to leveling the field for the middle class, giving them a break.
In closing Biden said – we inherited a God awful situation and the Obama/Biden ticket won’t rest until the middle class has a clear shot. Ryan said – we face a very big choice, what kind of country are we going to be, what kind of country are we going to give our kids, he went on about the condition of our country without taking responsibility for what Republicans have done to hinder growth, he said the Romney/Ryan wants to earn our support and they’re offering real recovery for everyone and he again said Romney was experienced. Ryan said the choice is clear – a stagnate economy that promotes more government dependency or a dynamic economy that promotes opportunities and jobs; he said they won’t duck the tough issues and will not blame others for the next 4 years-we will take responsibility; we will not try and replace our founding principles – we will reapply them; the choice rests with you.
How many times do Republicans have to tell you that they will destroy our Constitution and democracy before you will hear it? Republicans want to make us a Christian country-disregard our religious freedom (do away with Roe v Wade and Griswold v Connecticut but ignore other values identified in the Ten Commandments and elsewhere); they’ll change us from a democracy to a capitalist society-they don't tell you Kennedy dropped corporate tax to 70% and said to get rid of perks for the rich - it's now 35% and they want to pay even less which is why the middle class is squeezed. If you want things to change I say get the Republicans out of Congress so Obama can keep his promise to the middle class.
