Ann Romney - Isaac & Women

On August 28, 2012 Ann Romney began her convention speech with talking about hurricane Isaac and said “We shall all be thankful for our first responders and all that keep us safe.” I guess she didn’t know that Paul Ryan did not support compensating the 9/11 first responders with his votes of March 31, 2003 on HR 1463-Vaccine Compensation and December 22, 2010 on HR 847- 9/11 Health and Compensation Act. On September 10 it was said a $2.77 billion fund will be set up to help the first responders.
Ann also said “It’s the Moms of this nation that really hold this country together – single, married, widowed…and the working Moms who love their jobs but would like to work just a little bit less just to spend more time with the kids…we’re too smart to know there aren’t easy answers but we’re not too dumb to accept there aren’t better answers.” Ann said “Mitt loves this country” and “He will not fail”.
I hope Ann is right in that women are not too dumb. A smart woman will not let the vote of her husband, boyfriend, family, friends or neighbors dictate how to vote; she’ll look at the facts and make her own decision. I believed Ann when she said Mitt loves this country, I don’t think he’s an anarchist. But, I wonder why he’s adamant about not paying a fair share in taxes to help get the country out of debt (in 2010 they got a foreign tax credit of over $1.5 million), why he believes his religion should circumvent our Constitution when it comes to equally for all people and why his plans for economic recovery takes a toll on the average American. I will support all of these claims with the comments that follow which is why I am afraid for this country should he be elected and not fail.
On August 31 ABC asked Ann what role she would like to play if Mitt became President and she said “For years she’s been working with ‘at risk’ youths…her concern is making sure that every child live to their fullest potential, so I would hope that I would be able to work with ‘at risk’ youth”. This is admirable.
